Christmas and Empty Streets

Posted: December 25, 2011 in Uncategorized

I went out to the streets of London today. It’s Christmas and nearly noon but the roads are quite and the streets are empty, the shops are closed and the tube is not working. When you are so used to London being busy and crowded with people rushing for the own business, seeing the city being so calm makes time go slower – a very strange feeling. This feeling reminded me of old Ha Noi during Tet – Vietnamese Lunar New Year – when the capital was also in such a void state.

But whilst the city might seem cold outside, the inner of the city and of other cities, towns, are warmer then usual. People have put aside their daily busy routines for this special occasion to stay close with their family, close and loved ones. It is very special when you spend a Christmas day with your family, you feel the joy by bringing the joy to those important to you, knowing they feel the same.

Merry Christmas.
